I wanted to do something a little unusual today and tell you of some things the Lord has been doing with this ministry. I don't often use this space for this sort of thing, but because of the nature of the events I wanted to share them with you.
This blog is a part of a larger ministry, Biblical Counseling for Women (biblicalcounselingforwomen.org) which is a branch of Reigning Grace Counseling Center (rgcconline.org). Both of these organizations are teaching and training ministries that equip the local church and those who contact us via the internet. Our goal is to expose as many people as possible all around the world to the truth that the Scriptures are sufficient to address the problems of life.
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:16-17 (NASB)
For many years, these ministries have been affiliated with certifying organizations to ensure that the education and training that our counseling students receive is of the highest quality. Our staff members are certified by NANC (National Association of Biblical Counselors) and/or IABC (International Association of Biblical Counselors). We have been affiliated with the IABC and have been an approved training program for them for a long time. It is truly a joy to watch what the Lord does in the hearts and lives of our students as they train and subsequently are biblically discipling others.
What we have heard over and over again is that the cost of traditional education and training is unaffordable by so many people who want to know how to minister to others, disciple them biblically, and help them though difficult times in life. They are thankful that our training program is very affordable and of such high quality. We are humbled by those comments and very grateful the Lord has made it possible for it to be that way.
This week we were contacted by NANC and were encouraged to apply to become a NANC Certified Training Facility for them. Should we be approved, this will increase our exposure and allow us to reach many, many more people than ever before! We are in the process of submitting our teaching and training materials to them for approval.
We praise God for this opportunity because our desire is to proclaim the sufficiency and supremacy of Christ in all the matters of life. Certification by NANC will greatly increase our ability to do that because of it's size and influence.
I always covet your prayers, but now I am asking for your prayers over the next few weeks for this application process in particular. Our prayer is that we would be approved by this organization for the purpose of reaching more people with solid, biblical teaching. We want to show the world that God's Word is enough to address the common to man problems of life, and the deeper problems that have driven mankind away from the Scriptures and into the arms of secular thinking and reasoning.
