While We Were Yet Sinners

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NASB)

Recently we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was resurrected after 3 days in the tomb, having been crucified for our sin. He was the only acceptable sacrifice. He was sinless and perfect and was offered to God on our behalf. He made a way for sinners such as you and me to stand in the presence of a Holy God.

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. Romans 5:9 (NASB)

Our ungodliness demanded a stiff redemption price- the blood of Christ.  Our ungodliness is the reason we need grace unto salvation. We are completely and totally unworthy of what we have received.

This is all of grace. Undeserved, unmerited, unearned grace; but grace freely given in spite of who and what we are. God demonstrates grace to us because He is holy and cannot tolerate our sinfulness.

God is continually worshiped for His Holiness in the Bible. You have hear me say before that I have not found any Scripture that says that the cherubim and seraphim surround the throne of God saying, “wonderful, wonderful, wonderful” or “faithful faith faithful.” They say “holy, holy, holy” when speaking of God.

Because of Christ and grace we have access to the throne of God (Heb.4:16). Our access has is totally and solely dependent upon the completed work of Jesus Christ.

Our justification in Christ brings peace with God and complete access to Him. It rests on Him alone,  and because it rests on Him and not on me in any way there is no need to come to the throne fearfully, but we can come boldly. Our access to God is bold and confident. We cannot ever be turned away. Our access to Him is unbroken, unconditional, uninterrupted, unwavering, and unquestionable because of Christ.

This is a tremendous truth to comprehend!

This means that we are known completely, in total, by God already. He already knows our thoughts, hearts, sins and innermost struggles. This is an encouragement not to try to hide anything from God because it is not possible.

Rejoice in your acceptance; rejoice your sin-debt has been fully paid. Rejoice in the love your Savior has for you!
